The Economy

I believe the way out of the economic crisis is to cut spending, cut taxes and allow our businesses to grow. I will fight to balance the budget and dramatically reduce spending, and eliminate redundant and wasteful federal programs.

   Job Creation

Small businesses employ more than 50 percent of Americans and create two-thirds of our nation’s new jobs. Our nation’s top priorities should be economic growth and job creation in the private sector. The Stimulus Bill was a colossal failure that only increased the national debt and put a heavier burden on tax payers. We need to grow our way out of this pro-longed recession. I believe the way to do it is by cutting taxes and burdensome regulations and allowing small businesses to create real jobs.

   Federal Debt

The amount of money owed by our government is now over $14 trillion and is projected to grow to over $20 trillion in the next 4 years. History has shown that hyper-inflation and ruinous tax increases are not the solution for overcoming debt. America needs to grow our way out of debt by lowering taxes and reducing regulation on small businesses.

   National Security

I strongly oppose trying foreign terrorists in a civilian court. I will stand firmly with our allies and strongly defend the state of Israel.

   Israel

Israel is America's only dependable democratic ally in the Middle East. Obama is wrong to pressure Israel to accept the indefensible pre-1967 war borders. I believe that Jerusalem should remain free and recognized as the capital of Israel. I agree with Israel’s policy of refusing to negotiate with Hamas which has formed an alliance with Fatah/Abbas. I oppose attempts to have the UN recognize a Palestinian state in September.

   ObamaCare

I believe that health care reform is needed, but the current bill needs to be amended due to its enormous burden it will place on private sector businesses and job growth.

   Social Security and Medicare

Social Security and Medicare represent solemn commitments made by the government to people who have been paying into this system their entire lives. I believe that these programs should be preserved as they are for those in or near retirement and that we should work to strengthen and preserve them for our children and future generations. I oppose efforts to privatize or bankrupt either. I would work with members of both parties to reach a solution that will meet our obligations on both of these programs.
